Tanya Bonakdar Gallery seeks a Full-Time Preparator/Art handler to work with our staff and help manage all aspects of installation and art.

The successful candidate must have prior art-handling/preparator experience, be able to work in an extremely fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be capable of prioritizing and working efficiently on several projects at one time. Prior gallery or museum experience is necessary.

This position requires a serious commitment of time and energy with some overtime required. As such, only the most qualified candidates who are interested in such a commitment need apply.

Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experienced handling.

Duties include but are not limited to: coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments of artwork with the gallery's two Registrar's; packing artwork for safe transit; coordinating framing for the artists; managing all logistical elements of installation and de-installation both in the gallery and at art fairs; maintaining gallery storage and the gallery's general physical upkeep; among other tasks. Experience in fabrication of artworks and research for site-specific projects on behalf of gallery artists is required, and carpentry experience is a plus.
